The stomach is an important component of the digestive system. The primary function of the stomach is to use the digestive acids and enzymes present in the stomach to break down the ingested food into nutrients.   • Pancreatitis can be treated with intravenous administration of fluids and medications to alleviate the pain and discomfort
  • Stomach ulcers and heartburn can be treated with medicines as well as changes in the lifestyle and change in dietary intake. Spicy and acidic foods have to be avoided. Alcohol intake and smoking should be stopped, to avoid irritating the stomach linings.
  • Pain in stomach caused due to infections can be treated with antibiotics and other medications.
